The Tub Repair Company Ultimate Chip Kit is designed to repair most small holes, chips, cracks, and scratches in fiberglass, acrylic, and porcelain tubs. The kit supplies materials to repair holes roughly the size of a quarter or smaller. This is a very good kit for large chips out of the gel coat of fiberglass and will cover roughly 6" x 6" of chipped gel coat or tubs with multiple chips.  This is not for holes in the fiberglass.  If working with a hole over 1 inch in diameter you should get the Large Wall Repair Kit.  It is also very good to repair screw holes from removing shower doors.

This is not designed to repair holes larger than 1 inch or weight-bearing floor cracks.  Refer to Level 2 or Level 3 Repair Kits for larger repairs.

This kit matches nearly any color with our easy-to-use color matching system . Refer to our instructional video library for easy step-by-step directions. Most repairs with this kit will take approximately 1.5 hours and will need 24 hours to cure.

    Product Finish and Use

    The finish should be smooth and may be slippery.  If slipping is a concern you should use a shower mat without suction cups and remove the shower mat when not using it to let the repair dry between uses.  The best way to get the longest life out of your repair is to let it dry between uses and not keep it perpetually wet.

    Warranty

    We have a 180-day warranty on the functionality of all of the products we sell.

    You can purchase an additional repair warranties as an add-on on your way to your cart. These warranties cover your repair work.

    To activate a warranty we would need you to email before pictures of your project before we ship the kit. Email after pictures within 30 days and once your project is completed. After this, to make a claim you would need to email us a picture of the failed repair within the timeframe of the warranty. Email to office@tubrepairco.com.

    Shipping / Return / Refund

    We offer free shipping in the lower 48 states on orders over $100 which would include any of our kits. We ship all products by UPS Ground and it normally takes roughly 3-4 days to receive most packages.

    Shipping to Canada will have shipping charges as well as a roughly $90 CAD import/broker charges. We will call and email to confirm you understand this before shipping.

    Returns need to be made within 30 days after purchase. To make a return please include your order number in or on the box. Use the original packing and box the kit came in. Ship it by ground to:

    Cautions and Warnings

    This kit should be used while wearing a respirator.  Should not be used by Children, Pregnant women, or Breastfeeding women.  Products in the kit can be flammable and include aerosol cans so they should be kept away from flames and extreme heat.  Please see safety instructions in the instructional library for product safety.  The finish on repairs may be smooth and slippery.  If the slickness is a concern you should use a shower mat without suction cups and hang the shower mat up when not in use.

    Care Instructions

    All project need 24 hours to cure before putting back to use.

    It is recommended not to us bleach on the repair as this can yellow the coating or Comet cleaner as that is an abbraisive.

    If you use a shower mat over floor repairs avoid using mats with suction cups as this will stress the coating and cause it to fail. If you use a shower mat it is recommended to hang it up after each use.

    After remodeling my mom’s bathroom, I removed the protective plastic off her new tube, only to find spider cracks on the corner. The only options were to rip out the tub, tile and wall board, or try to repair the tub. I went with the repair… that was a no brainer. The repair instructions and the videos online were informative and easy to follow. I’ve used Bondo in the past, and this filler is very similar. Take your time, and feel the surface for imperfections before putting on any paint. As you can see, my repair was in the corner, so the sanding was mainly done by hand. After the primer and paint, I was able to use the provided small swatches of sandpaper to make it smooth and shiny. You do have to work at it a bit when it comes to the final polishing… if your repair looks dull, keep sanding wetting the surface. By the way, I did not have to fuss with the paint color. It was a perfect match right out of the jar. After all the work I did to remodel the bathroom, I decided to spend more for this repair kit, then to buy a standard spray paint at the big stores that had mixed reviews… and I’m glad I did. I’m very happy with the results of this kit.

    Our tub is fairly new. We chipped it accidentally and were so distraught after ruining our brand new spa like tub. We visited the local box stores and smaller hardware stores for advice on chip repair. None of the advice we received or products offered seemed reliable. There was no product we could find that would both fill and seal the chip as well as restore the color of the chipped area. We found Tub Repair Store on YouTube. Honestly, we felt that it couldn’t be as straightforward or easy or successful as the videos made the repair kit seem. I am happy to report the kit materials are of extremely high-quality! Tub Repair Store gives you more product than you need. Also, we received additional helpful items like extra pairs of gloves and extra bottles for mixing and extra aerosol cans. We were provided printed, clear, easy to follow directions as well as tips and tricks. All of that on top of the expected items. The solution was easy to mix, easy to apply, and visibly durable. The color matching was straightforward and successful. You would never know there was a chip in our tub. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone.

    I've never done anything like this before so I took my time. It was a fun challenge to Match the color but I enjoyed the process and got a great match. I had to purchase a new air sprayer but after that, it went well. Such an improvement to the tubs. I had enough product to repair two tubs. Unfortunately , I don't have before pictures to the tub that had multiple chunks out of the porcelain. My husband was so impressed with the results!!

    AMAZING repair kit and instructions, so glad I bought it! This hole had been taped up for over a year, closer to two. I even had a little 20 dollar repair kit from Amazon to patch it, but I just couldn't bring myself to start working on it and had little hopes that the repair would be decent. Finally started researching shower repair more in depth and stumbled across a YouTube video from the Tub Repair Company. Visited the website and saw so many positive reviews so I took a chance and bought the large wall repair kit. So glad I did!! I'm a pretty handy gal but I had no idea how I was going to fix this with the cracks running across 2 tile lines and still make it look good. Somehow it worked out. I watched the video at least three times and then watched it again as I went, pausing between steps. I even reached out beforehand via text to get advice on how to work with the tile lines, and the response was super prompt and helpful. The only thing I would have done differently is mixed up less product at a time and worked in sections since it was a larger repair due to the cracks.... Especially with the finish putty because you have less time to work it before it hardens. But it all worked out fine and sanding took care of any imperfections from the rush to get it all covered. The tile lines, while being difficult, actually worked in my favor with the paint job because I used them to tape off and I didn't have to worry about fading the paint into the rest of the wall. The gray white paint was as close to an exact match a person could get, didn't even have to blend colors. I had zero issues with the paint system and have plenty of paint left over. I had plenty of product too; would have had a lot more left over if I didn't mix up more than I needed at first. I'm still waiting for the final cure and sanding but I know it's going to look even better than it does now so I'm super happy and can confidently leave a five-star review. I haven't been this impressed with a product in a long time. So glad I stumbled on that YouTube video by the Tub Repair Company!

    Excellent product. Make sure you get a respirator, I regretted not having one as vapors are strong. If you have your sprayer squirt at first and then quit, your mixture is too viscous. Add a little more reducer and it will start spraying nicely. Would suggest a little more reducer and catalyst per kit. I ended up using it all for 3 ounces of paint mix. If I had to delay repair, I would not have enough for second attempt. Otherwise, ample putty and hardener. Ample paint resin. Ample supplies. Very proud of final result.

    Store owner replied: Thanks Eugene! Yes we strongly recommend a respirator! These products are not to be taken lightly. 3 oz of resin is a very large batch of coating. A repair like this would have taken 1.5 - 2 oz of resin. We give you enough catalyst and reducer to mix up to 4 oz of resin; however, that much coating is much more area than our kits are designed to repair.

    I ordered the wrong kit but was helped with finding the additional material to complete a hole repair. I really commend the customer service of this company because it was late into the evening and I was near ready to quit but was motivated by the assistance I received. They kit worked seamlessly and as you can see from the picture an inexperienced person can produce quality work using the videos available on their website. The only issues I had was that the paint system they provided was a little temperamental but ultimately work in the end. I would also recommend advise on what to do if you have dripping over spray. This kit can be a life saver and can be used multiple times depending on how big of a repair you have. Be blessed.

    Ultimate Chip Repair Kit

    Its a fantastic kit, and includes most of what you need. However, the air brush portion plugged very quickly and wasn't able to get the finish correct. I'll pick up an airbrush kit and redo the painting portion. Meanwhile, I brush painted it on, then sanded it to smooth it out. Its really my only complaint. But i would buy the kit again.

    Repair of hairline cracks and one screw head sized hole was a total success. I can't see or feel where it is. I was worried that color matching and texture would be terrible but the colors provided were plenty to get to the perfect shade. YouTube instructions were vital. Few things missing: 1) Remind to knead the hardener tube, 2) Whether it's necessary to re-sand and re-prime if another coat is needed after paint cured. 3) How to feather edges when using bondo since it hardens so quickly. 4) Add 120 sandpaper to sand down the bondo prior to painting.

    One option on what to improve- warn in advance of need for respirator. Two- loudly clarify that the mustard colored sandpaper is What should be used in initial sanding process. I thought I was meant to be used with orbital sander. Yes my bad —but better clarification would be appreciated. So my repair ended up not have nearly the smoothest finish as it should have.

    The color match process was great, but the spray system did not work, even with the extra canister it didn’t work. I went through the trouble shooting guide, still no luck. I ended up using a fine paint brush which works pretty good. All in all it turned out ok.
