Floor Crack Repair
Floor Crack Repair Kit Full Demonstration
In this step-by-step video we demonstrate how to use our Floor Crack Repair Kit to fix a six-inch weight-bearing floor crack in a bathtub.
The Tub Repair Company's Floor Crack Repair Kit is designed to repair weight-bearing damage to fiberglass and acrylic tubs. This kit can tackle cracks in the floor roughly 9" or smaller. It not only repairs the crack but adds support under the floor for a long-lasting repair. Our repair kits match nearly any color with our easy-to-use color matching system.
Cracked Fiberglass Shower Pan
This project is a crack in a fiberglass shower pan. We use the Floor Crack Repair Kit to add support under the floor and make a strong, long-lasting repair with a seamless color match.
Is This Weight-Bearing?
Here we go over a type of repair that can be confused as a cosmetic repair (Large Wall Repair Kit) but is actually a weight-bearing repair (Floor Crack Repair Kit). This is a crack near the floor running horizontal to the floor that opens a bit when you step near it. If the damage opens up when you step near it, that is a good indication that is it weight-bearing.
Drilling and Foam Demo
Here is a quick drilling and foam demo which is the first step to repairing a fiberglass bathtub or shower. Notice how I find the shallow and deep layer support. Most times (but not always) you will find tubs and showers will have 2 gaps. One between the floor and the support board (shallow layer) and one between the support board and the subfloor (deep layer). Be sure to check for both and fill both using our floor support foam.
